How can anyone produce a book that captures man's search of the planets and the universe? this book is an excellent attempt to present what has been learned in the last century about the planets that have been observed by scientists over the many centuries .Surprisingly, with rudimentry equipment, skygazers actually learned much about the planets and particularly their movements, but what the surfaces and surrounding "atmospheres" were like remained primarily conjecture, until the mid 20th Century when it became possible to send rockets and satellites into space to photograph, take measurements and even return with samples. We have learned much about what the planets are like;but why and how still remains filled with mystery. In this book of just under 100 pages,we see great images of what these space missions have found, and the sense of wonderment far surpasses even man's greatest imagination. The text which accompanies these photographs gives the best explanations of the how and why of the planets, but clearly shows there is much more to be learned. This is a book good for anyone ,of any age, who wants to know more about what they see as they look up in the sky;but the thing that come through loud and clear is how wonderful, different and precious our planet Earth is in this universe ;at least that part we are able to explore so far.
Incredible!
