Three German youths decide to ride their bicycles from Backnang (near Stuttgart) in Germany to Australia to go to the 1956 Olympic Games. They travel through Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Irak, Persia (Iran) Pakistan, India, Burma, Singapore and Indonesia before arriving in Darwin to ride south to Melbourne. During this epic journey they met some very important people, The Shar of Persia and Princess Soraya, Pandit Nehru of India, King Faisal and many others. After some extraordinary adventures they finally arrived in Darwin from where they rode their bikes across Australia to Merlbourne, arriving in time for the 1956 Olympic Games.
