It was the great C.S. Lewis who referred to himself as "a mouthpiece for the scholar to the common man." C.s. Lewis translated the high language of scholars into the tongue of the laity; he made theology accesable and understandable. The same can be said of Stephen as well. As an itinerate evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene, Stephen Manley stands in the gap between scholar and the masses. He has incredible theological insight, as well as the gift of putting such insight into language so that it is understandable. In Stephen's book, "Journey to Wholeness," he exposes to us the powerful significance of God's redemptive activity. The journey to wholness is a walk down the path of salvation. This is not a book that outlines seven steps to salvation, but rather a thorough investigation of the how, why, and what of salvation. Students of theology with appreciate this book on account of completeness of the theology; Stephen's theology is not fragmented, leaving out or disregarding certin theological issues. Stephen links together for us all of God's salvific activity in a way that allows us to see the true aim of redemption. A great book! A.J. Bedell
