Inspiration and more

Inspirational stories have recently been very prevalent in books and on film - "Tuesdays With Morrie" and "Door To Door" come to mind - and done with much higher quality and readability than in years past. I think that Joshua Shoots! fits in this mold very well. This is a well-written book, and one that had more to the story that I first realized. One expects to be blown away by Joshua's story - and you will be even more than you anticipate. However, much of the book also focuses on the life and broadcasting career of Chris Madsen of Anaheim Mighty Duck fame. It's really the intersection of the lives, struggles, dreams, aspirations and accomplishments of these two men that make the book special. I came away from reading this book really thinking about the power of friendship, and how friends can make powerful changes in our lives, even when we don't realize it. The chance meeting of two people, even two people with seemingly little in common such as Madsen and Joshua, can be life changing and life enhancing. This is a book to truly warm your heart and appreciate those around you all the more. All the best to Joshua, and Chris, you're still missed on the air.
