Joseph carefully considers his unique role in the eternal plan of redemption as the chosen caretaker of the Christ child and inwardly fears his unworthiness: spiritually, intellectually and financially. As a result, this short story is the familiar nativity story told from an unfamiliar perspective, Joseph's.
