Futuristic can be fun!

Vivianne is a self-made woman. Having lost her parents at a young age and being left to fend for herself, she's dedicated her life to being independent and running her own successful business. Her latest project, Draco, is a highly sophisticated spaceship that she intends to use to help save Earth from being taken over by the evil Tribes. Jordan has lived for a very long time and most of that time was spent searching for the ancient staff that was taken away from him over 1,000 years ago. Using Rion & Marisa's help [in book # 2:], he was finally able to recover it and is finally ready to put the Tribes to rest by uniting the Staff with the Holy Grail. The hard part will be finding the Holy Grail. Jordan then falsified a resume to get hired by Vesta Corp so that he can work on the Draco and use it to search for the Holy Grail. As you can imagine, Vivianne was none-too-pleased when she realized that Jordan's resume was a fake and even more irate when he used the staff to power the ship and launched them into space with only an amateur crew on board. Their search for the Holy Grail takes them on a fantastic journey through space and several visits to foreign planets. Meanwhile, they're learning to cope with being stuck in space with no notion of where they are or where to go, an insatiable lust that seems to grip them an the most inopportune times and an amateur crew that's not prepared for any sort of danger. I'm going to be perfectly honest and say that I had a little bit of trouble digesting these books only for the sci-fi aspect of it. However, if I can read about hottie vamps, yummy weres and tortured demons - then there's no reason I can't read about sexy aliens! Vivianne was my kind of gal. She was smart, sassy and feisty. Jordan was sarcastic, focused and ooh la la, sexy. Together, they were intense...and creative! Susan Kearney does a great job of making this futuristic romance fun to read. She gives you a thorough plot and sees it through to the end. The storyline is as believable as a good author can make it - it does make you wonder though if someday space travel will be so feasible. I enjoyed these books more than I initially expected and will say that Jordan concluded the story nicely

Grabbed me and kept me reading

I wasn't sure if I would run into problems following the story since this is the third book in a series, not having read the other two books wasn't an issue. The characters from the prior books were mentioned but did not feature prominently. I do think I may go back and read them now that I've read this story. This was a different type of paranormal romance. Earth is feared to be infiltrated by members of a group called the Tribes who either take over other planets or destroy them. People are becoming suspicious. Who might be passing on information? Jordan sets the ship to take off before they have finished all of their checks because he knows a way to save Earth. Jordan is from a planet that was destroyed by the Tribes and has been alive for centuries, he once called King Arthur his friend. Jordan and Vivianne are both able to shift into dragon shape and go on quite a few incredible adventures. Kearney made them sound realistic and plausible. This story really grabbed me and kept me reading, it was fast paced and smooth. I never felt like I had to keep reading but that I wanted to keep reading. It was a very enjoyable, engaging read.

excellent finish to a strong romantic science fiction trilogy

The Tribes destroy any planet in the galaxy who defies their edicts. Their current plan is to devastate the earth for rebelling as no one defies the Tribes. Vesta Corporation CEO Vivianne Blackstone works on a spaceship to protect earth from the venomous Tribes. When she realizes her chief engineer, Jordan McArthur, submitted a phony résumé, she confronts him with the evidence. Instead of denying what she shows him, Jordan sends the spaceship Draco into space with him, Vivianne, some workers and a dog on board. Jordan has a vendetta that goes back centuries when Trendonis of the Tribes destroyed his world. Once known as Merlin, he uses his Staff as the fuel source to propel the Draco, but he and his crew must obtain the three Keys of Space, Wind, and Soil to power up his Staff in order to link it with the Holy Grail or watch earth face annihilation. He is falling in love with Vivianne, but Jordan conceals his feelings because if he succeeds in saving the earth and beyond by destroying the Tribe, he dies too. The third Pendragon Legacy (see Lucan and Rion) is an excellent finish to a strong romantic science fiction trilogy with a terrific Arthurian magical link. The lead couple is a wonderful pairing of two strong personalities who are in conflict as she wants to save her planet while he wants to save a universe. Fans will enjoy this exciting thriller in which the courageous heroes know that if they succeed in defeating the Tribe, he expects to die but harder on his soul, he fears she will too; a risk she willingly takes. Jordan is a charming, fascinating must read story!

The final installment in The Pendragon series finds an unlikely candidate trying to save the Earth by finding King Arthur's Holy Grail. Jordan McArthur has lived so many lives and taken so many forms, including an owl, since his Camelot days but all of it has lead him to this time and place where the fate of the earth lies literally in the hands he has wrapped around The Ancient Staff. Jordan served as Merlin to King Arthur and finding the Holy Grail is the key to turning back the Tribes that want to annihilate the plant Earth. Jordan knows the risk he is taking and the cost will be his life but nothing can stop him from destroying the Tribes but maybe his boss and co-owner of the spaceship Draco, Vivianne Blackstone. Getting her on board with his farfetched search and rescue plan and letting her know the whole truth about him and the magic surrounding the spaceship seems the only way. He will tell her the truth and see even after learning he is a shape shifting dragon if trust is in the equation. However, Vi questions his allegiance to the project, to Earth and most importantly his loyalty to her once their mere attraction turns into a passion so intense neither can control nor contain it. Their lust and need for each other is burning hotter than the engines of the spaceship. Before Jordan has a complete understanding of how the ancient staff works or an ability to control the pulses of energy and invisible bursts of power it has to be harnessed into use by the spaceship and put to full utilization as a power source. He finds without it he is unable to keep the spaceship working to guide him to fulfill his destiny of destroying his enemy and keeping Earth safe. Along the way he and Vivianne explore planets, have a close encounter with Arthur, and go deep inside a cave looking for mystical keys. But their searching helps them find the pieces needed to conquer the evil doers as well as cause them to stumble upon the most dangerous human discovery - love. They try to stop it, fight against it with everything they have but in the end the one common denominator they both share besides memories is love for each other that no artificial source of power can produce. Jordan wants to give his life for Vi but is he willing to give his love as well because they are now one in the same option. It is never a good idea to fall in love with one book over another in a series because it seems unfair to the others and the reader would not be at book three had they not loved the first two. But Jordan's story in this series is a mold breaker because he is more than dashing good looks or the last man able to fight for earth's salvation he is a selfless man who will risk everything including his life to help others. He seeks to do the right thing and believes that his existence is secondary only to the salvation of others especially Vivianne and while he wants to spend his life with her he realizes that one person can change the outcome for everyone an
