I loved the lazy Southern feel of this Jordan Taylor mystery. Liesl Wilke paints a wonderful visual for this delightful story of love and redemption for a savvy southern female lawyer whose heart is still grounded in the simple, tangible elements of life. The novel was so wonderful that I was disappointed it had to end! I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of Jordan Taylor's adventures.

You can't help but like Jordan Taylor. She might be a lawyer, but this girl's roots are down to earth. It took her grandfather's questionable death to get her back to where she belongs. It was an easy, fun read that kept me wanting more. I'm looking forward to Jordan's next mystery!
A mystery of the heart

At the heart of Jordan Falls is my favorite kind of mystery: the kind that deals with the human heart. Jordan, the young, widowed narrator of the story, is a successful lawyer with a problem we can all relate to. She isn't settled or at home in her own life. When her much loved Grandfather dies in a suspicious manner, she goes back to the Carolina hill country near Brevard, NC, to search out the circumstances of his death. In Jordan's search through her Grandfather's past, she discovers things that surprise her and her search addresses the age-old question, do we ever really know anyone -- even (or especially) when we love them? But the reason I believe this mystery deserves a wide readership is because the "real" mystery is what will it take to make Jordan, the narrator, finally at home with herself. It's beautifully written. LD Thornton knows how to turn a phrase and I particular loved the emotionally sound sense of place that's woven throughout the story. I recommend it to anybody who is searching for something to ground oneself in the world. You'll get a fun sleuthing experience that offers a deeper character-based experience. Very, very enjoyable.
