Gore's good book

This book is very imformative and easy to read. It has alot of insight into families as well as history. A good read for anyone studying family, marriage, history or a fan of Al Gore.

This Book Shows Tolerance is Big Issue

This was a wonderfully refreshing book. It's so important to teach our children tolerance in this day and age where there is too much competition, warfare and discrimmination. I hope my son Ryan reads this book some day and realizes that what the Gores are saying is not just politically correct garbage as the extremist republicans would say. The message in this book is similar to what Ghandi meant when he said "All men are brothers." In elementary school, my son got an award for friendship and tolerance. I would hope some bigots and racists in this country who fail to see we are all one family would start to get it. Jesus commanded us to love one another. This book took guts to write, and I'm proud of the Gores.

Give them a break!

Al and Tipper Gore are two of the most thoughtful and decent people I have ever had the honor to know. I attended one of their Family Reunion conferences (the reason this book came to be) this past fall and was extremely moved by the very real and touching testimonials of some of the participants. Whatever party you belong to, no one can deny that Al Gore was a good, decent and honest public servant who dedicated 24 years of his life to the service of his country. Joined at the Heart is thoughtful and well written. It is o.k. to not like the book, but it is not o.k. to write a review attacking him for mistakes he didn't make or for the faults of any other public servants. These reviews are meant to help readers decide whether to read or not to read. When you use the opportunity to attack him simply because you don't agree with his politics you do other readers a disservice.

An amazing achievement, Al Gore has done it again!

This book warms the soul, entertains the mind, and lifts the spirit. Al and Tipper Gore interview several families around America-each one interesting in its own way. The stories are fascinating, and the commentary by Al and Tipper is exceptional. I will buy this book for my family, and recommend it to every person I know.If you appreciate high quality non fiction, and are interested in the changes occuring in American society, buy this book. You will look forward to reading it again each time you set it down.

Gores again the first to take on a big problem

Al and Tipper Gore explore the changes in American families and the adjustments society is making to them. They don't stick just to the numbers, but punctuate their points with personal accounts from their own family and with interviews from several families they profiled. While they don't make policy prescriptions, they make the problems that need to be addressed clear. This is a factual yet moving account of the changing American family. I loved it!
