Beautiful

Textures and newer yarns make this a fabulous afghan pattern book. If you are tired of doing row after row of the same stitch this book is for you. Using motifs and stich together techniques and arrangements this is a unique afgahn book. This is my first Bobbie Matela book and I assure you it will not be my last!

Great book with fun patterns

This book has some really fun patterns all using the join-as-you-go format. There is a great chapter that incorporates 'fancy' yarn (the fuzzy or furry type), that allow you to use some fun yarn with reuglar yarn. It's a great way to use fun yarn without spending a fortune to make the entire blanket with the expensive yarn. While most of the patterns are rated Intermediate by the writers, I think most would be appropriate for a beginner.
