Best Chance of Winning

The best chance you'll have at winning in craps is to follow Patrick's advice. It takes discipline to win, something all professionals possess. If you're a novice at Craps, buy his first book on the Basic Strategies. Don't start with his advanced book--he'll be speaking over your head. Both books give you strategies to play by--pick one that suits your style...and follow his advice and then you might have a chance--a good chance of winning.

It is truthful. The best education on money management.

This book is the first of two steps in learning money management. The book super craps completes the course started by John Patrick on money management, which is what gambling is. Managing your money when in the casino. I took the time to learn everything I could with this book before going to the casino and gambling at the craps table. It took me five years to fully understand his approach. It is conservative, but very effective in putting strings of small consistent wins togeather. Im now a winner at craps. Thank you John. It was worth the effort.

CRAPS is as CRAPS PLAYERS does!!!

Like another reviewer, I never knew SQUAT about the table when first encountering John Patrick's INCREASED GENIUS concerning this wonderful game. His style of "telling it EXACTLY like it is" upsets MANY who feel they have "just arrived" and Vegas had better watch out for their expertise. However, HIS is, by far, the more realistic. In observing the BEGINNERS at a CRAPS table, I see them, constantly, betting the Pass line REGARDLESS of the trend of the table to "seven out" every other toss of the dice - John comments on these "dorks" and it upsets them. They, then, try to transfer THEIR lack of expertise at the table to his blame with such inane comments as "That must be why he writes books - in order to compensate for his losses". In California casinos, the math, apparently, isn't the same as covered in this SUPERB instructional book; because some actually believe [because they know no better] and comment that the Come bet is so much better than the Place bet. Just a simple point that John brings out [and backs up] is that the Come bettor must receive the "6" for example, TWICE before he collects a cent. The Place bettor needs that 6 to hit, only, once. Any mention of 6/5 [come] opposed to 7/6 [place] doesn't build your winnings as much as listening to the advice in this book and it is grossly faulty in its math. First, for every Come bet, as soon as the 6 would hit, you'd be paid [one-to-one for the basic bet and true odds ONLY on the odds you've taken] and you'd have to go through the Come again to get back to that 6 - meaning two more times a 6 hits for you to collect ANYTHING. Yet, the Place bet just sits there collecting each time that the "Come bettors" are playing around with that Come space. Such faulty advice as the "6/5 as opposed to 7/6", simply, isn't the way it happens and John Patrick brings out all of these excellent points. It is money WELL spent to buy this book; but, is money much BETTER won when this book is read and its advice is followed!!!

This is an excellent no nonsense book on craps.

I knew nothing about craps before I read this book and viewed the videos by Patrick. I wanted to play craps but was too intimidated to try to learn in the casino. I now know that at the table training would have been a costly mistake.I felt confident in my first craps game after reading the book and even got compliments from a dealer on the discipline I showed. John gives a realistic vision of what to expect and how to handle your money whether you win or lose.
