A brief biography of the English rock musician with emphasis on his early years and the formation of the famous Beatles. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This 1990 book about John Lennon, former Beatle and singer/artist, can still be found in libraries and at used book sales. Although it presents a good overview of young John's early years, the book handles sensitive subjects of his father's desertion and his mother's death well. For children and younger teens who may be struggling with the death of a parent or divorce, it is easy for them to emphasize with the confusion and pain John felt as his parents fell apart. Although many of the children reading this book may never have heard of John Lennon, the themes are universal. The book does ignore John's first marriage and son and touches briefly on his second marriage and son Sean. It does tastefully handle his death by Mark Chapman.
