Joe the Control Room Guy

Joe Outis grew up in the famous seaside booktown called Quayment. He graduated from the famous Ambrosian University with a degree in Media Arts, and receives a letter from a former classmate about a place in Pennsylvania which makes commercials for cable television. Joe applies, and starts work at Astron Cable and Technology Group, which does something called "local ad insertion" for a Big Cable Company in the area. He finds a convenient place to live and soon he is learning about that big satellite dish and the colored dots on the big screens in the Control Room. He learns his way around the city of North Belloc, and makes a number of friends. There's a lot to learn: eventually he'll be there at night all by himself and have to keep it all running.And then strange things start happening. One of the other operators comes into work late, and Joe helps him with a very serious problem. The two become good friends, and soon they find out there's something sinister going on...
