Two sketchbooks of Miro

Sketchbook on has drawings during the time he painted the farm. The works of this period are more representational.Drawings from the figure,the field ,buildings.Volume two has drawings of personages(pencil)from his fertile imagination.The drawings are juxtaposed by the paintings, they show what happens from the time of his idea to the developed painting.Most of the sketches are in pencil ,there are a few in color and the color reproduction is good. .This is a Skira production. I find it hard to get the two books out of the cardboard case.I have not read the text by Gaeton Picon in French. I could type it in on my translator and obtain the text in English, but I am content to study the drawings . ..the photographs of his sketchbooks.If you haven't been to the Fundacio Joan Miro in Barcelona than you will gain something from these two volumes.. The day I was there I was treated to seeing Miro's sketches they are revelatory.
