Titus has returned, not to challenge the JLA, but to make them an offer - in return for fealty, Titus will make the JLA into gods This description may be from another edition of this product.
When an ultra-powerful villain breaks into the Justice League's lunar Watchtower, and defeats the League on their own ground, it seems that they are up against a deadly new menace. But, though he looks different, it turns out that this villain is not new at all. Back in the Silver Age days of Barry Allen and Hal Jordan, the League had faced this same bad boy, who then called himself Titus. Just what happened back then, and can the JLA triumph again? This is a really fun graphic novel. I grew up in the Silver Age, and it was a real blast to see a new adventure with my old heroes. They did a good job of recapturing the good old days of the Silver Age, and I really liked the way they ran the two stories side-by-side. I found the illustration work to be excellent and the story (both, actually) to be very well-written and exciting. I highly recommend this story to everyone!
An interesting story that spans two different teams

I had never read this story before but I bought it based on John Byrne's artwork alone. It actually turned out to be a pretty good story overall. The modern JLA finds themselves facing off against a new foe that actually turns out to be an old foe in a new form. As such, we are treated to a "Lost" style flashback-tinged story that shows how the original JLA faced down Titus and thought they'd killed him while showing how the modern team is attempting to do the same. It's pretty interesting to see the Hal Jordan Green Lantern and Barry Allen Flash fighting Titus, while seeing the Jon Stewart Green Lantern and Wally West Flash doing the same years later. The teamwork is there for both. Even a "powerless" hero like Green Arrow manages to get his licks in here and there. This is a nice, self-contained story that shows both versions of the JLA at their best, with great artwork by Byrne to top it all off.
