Jimmy Stewart's all-American good looks, boyish charm, and deceptively easygoing style of acting made him one of Hollywood's greatest and most enduring stars. Despite the indelible image he projected... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Tabloid trash

I was 158 pages in, my suspicions were confirmed that the writer is a hack when he casually states that Cary Grant had a live in lover, referring to Randolph Scott. That was the last straw. This lie confirmed that his prior ramblings were also nonsense.

Love!

This was just an in-depth examination into Jimmy Stewart and the early workings of Hollywood.

Great book!

Jimmy Stewart is by far one of my favorite actors and I really enjoyed reading this book about him. MUST READ if you love Jimmy Stewart!

A must for Jimmy Stewart fans

Well written and researched. I didn't realize the family history of military service, and this pushed Jimmy to go fly in dangerous situations when other stars may have made the entertainment circuit. Jimmy's father always wanted him to return to his hometown and take over the hardware store. Thankfully, Jimmy knew he needed to act and did a wonderful job at it.

It's a Wonderful Life.

Title of my Review would be enough to get the idea about Jimmy and his biography. One of the simplest actor and great human being he is..yes he is coz he lives in our memory till we live....and may be forever if possible. I write this coz i read the following line somewhere: "There is a certain part of all of us that lives outside of time. Perhaps we become aware of our age only at exceptional moments and most of the time we are ageless.." All his life and films are timesless classi life....... Grab it.....

Amazing Bio

I could not put this book down once I started reading it. It provided insight into Jimmy Stewarts' upbringing and basic personality as well as how he grew from life experiences, making him even better as an actor. I also enjoyed the insight into the movie business of his era and the story behind the movies he chose to be in. I have always been a fan of Jimmy Stewart's work, and now I know why!

Good Repor t on an Interesting Man

The cover picture selected for this book says a lot ot me. It shows Jimmy Stewart in a relaxed pose, legs stretched out (they continue around to the back of the book), but with a very serious expression on his face. In his 99 movies over almost sixty years he played a lot of characters. In real life he really played one, himself; himself as actor, as a B-24 pilot during World War II, and then again as actor and famly man. In this book I was most interested in his World War II experiences. Like a lot of World War II vets, he didn't seem to want to talk much about his experiences. It seems pretty clear that he was out where the war was real, including returning to England in shot up planes that crashed upon landing. Anybody who flew in those planes on the long haul to Berlin deserves my respect. All in all, an interesting biography of a very interesting man who survived Hollywood for a lot of years and made some relly classic movies.
