ISBN 0373089902 - A small step above the usual romance novel for me, partly for the novelty of being written from the guy's viewpoint. On the other hand, there are moments when the guy's point of view isn't good - for example, there's a point where he tells the women he loves that if she had just slept with him, he'd have been faithful forever. Typically male, perhaps, but hardly romantic! The book begins at the end - Rob is watching Jenny's wedding. The woman he loves is about to marry a man he despises. Worse, he knows that she feels the same way about her husband to be. Her heart belongs to Rob! He reviews the week leading up to this fiasco and so does the reader. A joyful family occasion, Rob's brother's wedding, takes a turn when the woman who dumped Rob three weeks ago - by phone! - makes an appearance to announce her engagement to Jack Keel. Believing that Jenny cannot possibly love Keel, Rob sets his mind on figuring out what's behind these sudden changes before it's too late. Jenny had always wanted to be a veterinarian, and had loved Rob for years, but now she's claiming that it's enough for her that Jack can offer her financial security. Is Keel holding something over her? Can Rob figure it out or will he really have to watch her march down that aisle? An old romance standard, the cowboy/rancher, is perfect for this story and it's nice that Daniels updated that image with blended families and a heroine with a college education and career plans. Worth a read.
