Funny, easy read

This is a cute book with great quotes from all your favorite Tribe members. It's quite thin, but the quotes are great.

Too skimpy for its big title

This is a very small collection of sayings. It does not seem to have any theme. Most of the sayings are from modern ' celebrities' and not especially from those versed in Jewish knowledge and learning. The sayings themselves are in many instances not outstanding. Nonetheless there are some words here which can bring a smile or nod of welcome recognition. A few examples : "History teaches us that men and nations behave wisely after they have exhausted all other alternatives. Abba Eban" "The girl who can't dance says the band can't play" Yiddish proverb " What I am waiting for is a movie about beautiful quintuplets who love the same man." Harry Kurnitz " Life the way it really is-is a battle not between Bad and Good but between Bad and Worse. Joseph Brodsky " A Jew is someone who ties, who links his or her destiny to the Jewish people. Period. This is a Jew. I not enter religious affairs. Elie Weisel
