My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter

Ever since Art Zannoni came to my parish to teach a course on the Psalms, I had always considered him an Old Testament scholar. Imagine my surprise when I saw he had written a book on the Gospels. It is a wonderful read. Mr. Zannoni has profound insights into the Christology of the Gospels grounded in his understanding of the original Christian scriptures, i.e. the Old Testament. Mr. Zannoni's grasp of Jewish scriptures and first century Jewish life greatly help to illuminate the Jewish roots of Christianity. It leaps out of his prose. Mr. Zannoni writes in an almost conversational style that most readers should find easy to understand. It's as if he were sitting in your living room explaining the gospels. However, don't dismiss him as a light weight. He makes many profound points. I found that after each chapter, I could easily sit down and meditate on what I just read and gain much insight for doing so.

Excellent basic book of Biblical Christology

Arthur Zannoni has authored a fine book which is very readable and approachable, yet packed with fine scholarship. This book is easily read and leaves you wanting more. Zannoni's style is comfortable. Although a good read for someone working alone, he also provides good discussion questions at the end of each chapter, making it an easy to use book for small groups doing study together. Highly recommended
