New Age Interpretation Of The Gospels / The Revelation

If you're a follower of the new age movement and / or the Edgar Cayce psychic material you will enjoy this book for the most part I think. The author is an expert on Edgar Cayce and is very knowledgeable about the Bible as well as other scriptures and philosophies. He gives some very interesting insights about reincarnation such as souls often incarnate in groups. You will sometimes experience a strong feeling of familiarity with someone for no obvious reason. The reason is you have been involved with that person in past lives. He gets into some of the more esoteric ideas associated with Eastern religions such as deep meditation and unlocking and manipulating the mysterious life forces in the body. I'm not interested in doing that too much but I do plan on picking up my meditation again to try to unlock past life memories. I started this when I attended a past life seminar with Dr. Brian Weiss in August 2005 at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. Dr. Weiss is another new age pioneer I guess. An important point near the beginning of the book is when he mentions some of the other appearances of the Christ spirit such as Melchizedek, Joseph who was sold as a slave by his greedy brothers, and Joshua. Then later he tells what these other people did. Cayce said that the god Thoth (Hermes) was a reincarnation of "The Word". I guess that means Christ also but I'm not sure. The last chapter is devoted to Cayce's new age interpretation of the Book Of Revelation. If this is true it implies that the battle of Armegeddon has already started. The location for this battle is within all of us. The number 7 comes up a lot in this book and is related to the 7 churches in Revelation and the 7 spiritual centers of the body which correspond to 7 chakras or glands. The number 12 also comes up a lot. Cayce related the 12 elders in the Book Of Revelation to the 12 pairs of nerves in the brain. I won't say I understand everything in this book. However the Edgar Cayce material has, at least for me, withstood the test of time.
