Jerusalem Bound opens with Daniel's adopted grandson, Seth, and his household joining a Babylonian trading caravan. Reaching Jerusalem the men help restore the Temple of Yahweh. Ezra the priest then leads a group of Judean exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem, and diligently instructs the people how to live according to the Law of Moses. Years later King Artaxerxes sends his cupbearer, Nehemiah, to Jerusalem as governor. Defying Judah's enemies, Nehemiah rebuilds the city wall and restores public worship. During this period the prophets Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi speak God's message of comfort and condemnation to the returned exiles.
