Jericho is a scripturally accurate, sometimes humorous, and extremely touching narrative that illustrates how God uses seemingly insignificant things to reach each of us. The lives of two young Hebrew men are forever changed as they are sent to spy out Jericho.They encounter a pagan harlot who somehow believes in their God, Adonai. She is being courted by one of the King's officers, who is deeply in love with her and proposes on a regular basis. Now that she is serving the Hebrew God, she must turn her back on everything she has known.The two spies hide at her house, and then in a cave where God spares their lives through a miracle of nature. They leave with no usable information about Jericho. As they march around the city for six days, and violate many of the laws Moses laid down in the Torah, the Children of Israel have a crisis of faith. When Joshua asks them to do it again on the Sabbath, they cannot believe it.As the two young men stand in front of her intact house and window, with the rest of the wall laid flat, they wonder if she was the reason God sent them there in the first place.
