good book

Just took and passed the exam, and this book was part of the reason. Every objective was covered and was easy to read, and I don't feel like I put a lot of effort in to the exam, either. I did purchase the SCWCD Exam Study Kit (Deshmukh and Malavia). I liked that book as well, but felt this one was a little easier to read.

It's Very Good For Certification Not Learning

Hi alli have heared so much about that book before buying it that it is full of errors and useless but really after buying it i can say it is the best book for the exam not for learning you have to learn first and then use the book to prepare for the exam not to start learning from the book so u will find in the begining of the book a test to direct u what is the missing with u so to read it.

Not That Bad

The book has contained many many errors as other readers said, but most of the errors are just typo error and will not affect the reader esp. those preparing for the exam.Neglect those errors , the book can list and explain all the exam objectives precisely and present them in a appropriate order. Recommand for those who already have knowledge on web, servlet and jsp. Not for beginner.

Worthy purchase

I've read the entire book and was very surprised to see the type of comments posted. This book is good. The topics were explained well and the errors were mostly typos. You can go to the sybex correction sheet to see for yourself. I thought the authors did a great job explaining each topic and providing tables to help remember the terms. This is definately a good study guide.

A book that will help you pass the exam

For the past two weeks I have studied this book and just took the test. I am happy to say I passed the Web Developers exam and did very well as a result of this study guide. Because each chapter focused on addressing one or two objectives I was able to focus on each area until I felt completely comfortable with the material before moving to the next topic.I did notice a few errors, but that is to be expected on any first release. I also noticed how many difficult topics like distributed servlets, session management, implicit object scope and correct error handling were explained so clearly and simply. Before this book was released I studied the topics listed in the objectives by using the Java Server Programming J2EE book by Wrox and the Java Servlet Programming book by O'Reily. Unfortunately I found I had to re-read and piece together many of the concepts and at times I still did not have a clear understanding of issues such as scope. I found this guide put everything together--the explanations and images were clear and made complex topics easy. This book is very helpful and I have recommended it to my co-workers.
