Teach yourself Beginner's Japanese

This was a very good book gramatically speaking, however in some places it lacked simple vocabulary. I really enjoyed reading it, and I beleive that the people who read this book will earn a slow but steady knowledge of Japan's culture & language. Although it teaches you mostly phrases, it also leaves you blanks for you to practice your vocabulary in a sentence with that type of structure. Every once and a while it also gives you scattered references to Japan's Language, Life, and culture. That's why as a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give this book an 8.
