Pure Delight

Dog Stories is my first James Herriot book, but it won't be the last. His lovely writing style, his heartwarming stories, and his broad vocabulary have transported me to a world that I wish I could inhabit today. I would recommend to anyone who loves animals (especially dogs!), and who romanticizes the simpler life. You'll enjoy each story just as I have. (Having written these few words, I will now order a copy for a fellow dog-lover.)
