Great book

even though it says that it is for between the ages of 7 through 10 it is stiil fun to read if you are an avatar fan. it also gives some extra scenes that were not in the film {spoiler} like the dream hunt and also jake killing a sturmbest. it is more focused towards kids but it is still a joy to read. short book and it only describes everything up to where jake gets a banshee. if you dont like child books then dont get it. but if your like me and dont really care get it adds some more detail from the movie.

Great book for an 8 year old boy.

My Nephew says... this book is really cool. If you're a kid who loved the movie, you will love this book.

a great book for my boy

This is the book I look for exactly for my 10 year-old boy. He watched the movie and loved it. Our first language is not English. We find the book easy to understand. I like that the photos are printed scatteredly throughout the book, mixed with the text. This makes the book more interesting to read. It is not like some of the Disney moive books, which have photos just in the few central pages of the book. I recommend this book to all older children, especially those learning English as a second language.

Children's Thrill Ride

The description of the book plainly states that it is meant for readers 7 to 10. I purchased the book for my grandchildren for Christmas and each one of them loved it. The book takes us through about 2/3 of the film and has added scenes, such as the Dream Hunt, that are not in the film. Clearly there are more books coming, which will most likely take us through the battle and beyond. My family and I eagerly await the next installment. Your kids will enjoy this thrill ride. Great, but is it new?

The movie Avatar is an amazing movie. The only issue I had is the whole concept of this world and eco structure and the encroachment of our advanced civilization for proffit is an almost exact cloan of Alan Dean Foster's Mid-Flinx. I am afread as more movies/stories come out it will be remarkably like Alan Dean Foster's whole Common Wealth series (which Mid-Flinx is part of). I mean there is the bond between the native population and the trees and the whole circle of life thing and an outsider trying to survive and be accepted.... The part about the Avatar is not Forster's and most of the story is uneque, but the world and the premise behind it all is way to similar. Seeing as Cmron says this has been a dream he has been working on for about 15 years... about the time Mid-Flinx came out (a New York Time #1 Best Seller, so not unknown) and he started his Common Wealth and Pip and Flinx long before that. Again though the movie was still great.
