Written with the co-operation of the Jaguar factory, this book details the design, development, testing and production of the XK8, which was unveiled at the 1996 Geneva Motor Show. This description may be from another edition of this product.
for the development history of the cars and insight into Jaguar at a time when Ford had taken over and the struggle to keep Jaguar "Jaguar" was going on. I have most of the books on this subject and I have not seen a book with more in-depth coverage on the different design considerations, the process, etc., in bringing this car to market. It is chock full of great photos documenting every step of the way. I found this book a great read not just because of the subject matter, but the depth of detail in what it took to bring a brilliant design and concept to the light of day in what best can be described as uncertain circumstances. The primary thrust of this book is up to the launch of the XK8. The second edition has information and details of the XKR launch, but little if any content past the 2000 MY. If you are looking for the way the XK8/XKR came about, this is the book and I highly recommend it.
