It is surprising that this book never received a proper review. Well written and illustrated with lots of great photographs and drawings, this book goes into the 'behind the lures' scene. Surely deserving a review it is, it has depth and offers a myriad of information. Having been out there for a few years now, the book has already become harder to get. Though the book is set up to cover all the lure types and techniques to fish them with, its main thrust is to have experts discuss their experience and insights. This combination is a success. The book is easy to read, and divided into chapters short enough to be read one a day. Chapter 1 is a techniques primer, interesting and light, containing all the essentials about rigging bait. The second chapter is about lure selection, a topic we all struggle with from time to time. Is contains some interesting views. Chapter 3-6 discuss the various lures available, plastics, hard baits, top-water lures and underwater plugs. Throughout the chapters the reader will encounter experts of all parts of the country to put in their two bits, making this avalanche of information very easy to read and digest. So, here's my bit of advice. If you want to succeed as an angler, you'd do yourself a lot of good by reading this book. It's filled with great insights, tips, and advice that is very useful at the waterfront. It's well written and easy to read. It receives my highest recommendation!
