Probably not for all ages

Good read for Halloween, but probably not for the all ages.

An Old Classic That Still Has Its Magic

I love the old fairytales that are still around. The old stories are read and reread. It is a magical time in childhood that is always fresh in our minds. All some of the old favorites to your library.

Our Grandson Loves It!

My wife and I initially borrowed this book at our local library for our 4-year-old grandson. He loved it so much that we bought it for him. The illustrations are endlessly fascinating to him. I strongly recommend this book for young children (and their grandparents too!).

Geat Book

My daughter is six and she loves this book. Not too scary, but enough to keep her interest.

A good version of a traditional fairy tale

I read this book to my Pre-K class and they ask for it over and over again. The illustrations are good, kind of comical and scary at the same time. I enjoy reading this version because it stays true to the original language of the story :"Fee Fi Fo Fum, etc." You don't find this in every version.

Deliciously scary read-aloud!

Kellogg's traditional tale interpretations are among the best. His illustrations take on the old-time feel of classic tales and seem to magically glow, as they do in all his books. I read this book to my Kindergarten class and they ask for it again and again. It is great to see them cover their eyes and ears at the scary moments--they are frightened, but smiling from ear to ear.
