My favorite book

After experiencing a brain tumor myself, her story was a breath of relief. Not only is it relatable, but she writes with humor and grace. I highly recommend. She tells of how she overcame miscarrying a child, losing her father and unexpectedly losing her husband to brain cancer. Nora is the definition of strength, and I credit a lot of my strength in my journey to her. This book changed my life and my perspective.

Cathartic to read after loosing someone you love

I’ll be honest, this isn’t a book I would have normally picked up, if not for my dad passing away from cancer. I saw the summary and thought it’d be relatable - and it was. I empathize with the author who lost not only her husband (to cancer as well), but also her father, and her unborn child. She is a very different person compared to me, so some stories had me scratching my head - no I’ve never stalked my ex’s new girlfriends and befriended them - but that didn’t stop me from understanding other parts of where she’s coming from, and having similar struggles. The world keeps turning even after if feels like yours Stops, it sucks. It hurts. And people keep trying to give you unhelpful advice - I love her little comments about this. Her writing is at times sarcastic and hilarious, and one of my favorite aspects about this book. If you lost a loved one, it’s a nice book to read and relate to. I hope she’s blessed and doing well now, and I thank her for writing her feelings out in this book. It was a nice read.
