Gifted children's cognitive challenge

John Talbot's book is a wonderful cognitive and mathematical challenge for children, particularly gifted children. It rises above the ordinary presentation of mathematical concepts by presenting them in extraordinary puzzles and mazes. The games are linked, so that success of one gives clues to the next. For younger readers, some adult assistance may be needed, but the challenge for all is loads of fun. My sons (9 and 7yrs) have spent many hours of pure enjoyment with this book. They thrive on its challenges. I highly recommend it for any child who is bored with traditional approaches to math and craves stimulation.
