I am currently living in Italy. I want to be able to speak with my Italian neighbors, so I bought this book. After just doing the exercises in the first chapter (only -ar verbs), I am able to converse with them better. My Italian neighbors (who speak no English) like the book so much that they asked me to buy one for them so they can learn English. The exercises are excellent. I do them on a separate piece of paper so I can do the exercises over and over again. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn Italian.

This book is great to use a few minutes a day. In no time you'll be much more aware of verb meaning and conjugation. I find verbs to now be one of my strong suits in the language. You can even do it in pencil, then erase it and start over (it's in workbook format). Combine it with a few other sources of Italian learning for the maximum effect.
Grind Out Them Conjugations

I have found that there is no better way to learn a language than to write it out and that is what you do in this workbook. This method will especially appeal to the visual learner. Read the rules and practice the execises. It's a lot like the old elementary school workbook/drill approach to learning but there's no kidding yourself. You either know it or you don't.Three conjugations, fourteen tenses, four moods and numerous irregulars make Italian verbs a challenge to learn; however, the material is presented in a simple yet lucid format. There are some errors in the answer key which the more advanced student will easily notice. I am not sure if this book is intended for the absolute beginner; nevertheless, I highly recommend it for anyone at the basic or intermediate skill level and as quick review for the more advanced student. Don't forget your pencil and erasure. You will need them.

...[T]his book is a steal. It provides plenty of practice in Italian verbs and does an excellent job of preparing you for usage. The layout is straightforward and logical, and the verbs chosen are highly used and practical. The best way to learn a new language is through extensive practice and this is a fine workbook to increase one's opportunities to do so. I highly recommend it.
If you want to learn Italian, you have to learn grammar!

This book is perfect! It takes the student through drills of endless verbs, and if you want to speak, read and/or write Italian, you must understand the verbs. It really seems quite daunting! However, get your hands on this workbook! You will be really grateful you have it! Practice an hour a day, and you'll be amazed at the language acquistion you are able to achieve! And those language dictionaries? Don't bother! Use the grammar books. It's not as scary as it looks!
