I got this book for a plane ride and enjoyed it very much. Very funny, with great cartoon-style illustrations. I would recommend it especially to people who have served in the military.
Three-Star General With a Flair For Making You Laugh!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
I'm a military book specialist, and "It Wasn't Funny Then" by Gen. "Buffalo Bill" Quinn is a wonderful surprise. It's a military memoir, but it takes the form of dozens of great one- and two-page anecdotes, with cartoons. Anyone who has enjoyed Reader's Digest's "Humor In Uniform" feature over the years will love Gen. Quinn's book. In particular, veterans of WWII, Korea (the 17th Infantry especially), and the 7th Army in Germany will find this book a real treasure. In fact, anyone who's ever been in the military will find a lot of laughs here. It's a quick, light, very pleasurable read.
