Fair and Even Portrayal of a Difficult Topic

I have read several books in the last few months on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and found this book filled in many gaps for me. The previous reviewer found the book biased and slanted to the Palestinian point of view, but that was not my finding. What I did find was that this author was willing to approach both points of view with equal scrutiny. It gave excellent historical background on the claims of both sides, drew in the political climate of bordering countries and gave no excuses for the actions of both parties. The only thing I found missing, was the emotional impact of the events. But for that, I found Understanding the Holy Land by Mitch Frank a good addition.
