In ISLAND RENDEZVOUS by Michelle Monkou, Toni Kimball, who is between jobs and has time on her hands, decides to help her friend Nicole locate her husband's brother, who happens to live in the Bahamas. Toni who is suffering with the after effects of a hard divorce and a painful personal loss looks at this three-week trip as a long needed vacation and as a chance to let her hair down. Her mission to find Nicole's brother-in-law is accomplished easily, but her immediate reaction to Derek Calverton cannot be overlooked. She decides to let this rendezvous last as long as she is on the island and hopefully she will overcome her feelings of failure and bereavement. Derek Calverton owns a charter boat service in Nassau, Bahamas and when he meets Toni he is immediately taken with her beauty. Yet he finds she keeps him at arms length and realizes he has a lot of work ahead of him in order for her to let her guard down. The couple cannot deny their passion for each other and Toni's vacation romance is marvelous until Derek finds out the real reason she is in Nassau. Now Toni must decide whether she wants to walk away from the man who has lifted the veil of unhappiness from her being. Michelle Monkou has written a beautiful love story with a Caribbean backdrop, which is lush and definitely hot. The characters were well developed and the storyline exceptional. Ms. Monkou's description of Nassau, Bahamas reminded me of my times on the island and how romantic the scenery can be. ISLAND RENDEZVOUS is a wonderful love story with the elements of family, friendship, hope and forgiveness. Reviewed by Cashana Seals of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
