Armadillo literary magazine

Review by Lee Weatherly in 'ARMADILLO' magazine, June 27, 2004 [Armadillo Spring 2004]Isla and Luke's romance continues in this sequel to When Isla Meets Luke Meets Isla. Life goes on, beautifully chronicled in this gently episodic novel. Isla's parents are just beginning to move on from the death of their younger daughter; Luke's mum is finding happiness in a new relationship. Meanwhile, Isla and Luke are both studying at the local college, somehow managing to stay together even while dealing with unfamiliar adult pressures. The portrait of older teenagers struggling to find a new footing in their relationships with their parents is especially well drawn. Rhian Tracey has a very strong voice, and this engaging sequel is well worth a read.A bittersweet and painfully real look at an 'ordinary' teenage relationship.

Times Educational Supplement review

Adele Geras' review in the TES, June 27, 2004 Rhian Tracey's novel is a sequel to When Isla Meets Luke Meets Isla. The two teenagers, now at sixth-form college, spend part of the summer holidays together; both they and their parents have problems to solve in the present and ghosts to lay to rest. This is a very engagingly written and honest book.

Cathy Hopkins, author review

Cathy Hopkins, author of Mates, Dates series on ‘Isla and Luke – make or break?’Took me right back to being sixteen and all the bitter sweet experiences offirst time fumblings with boys! Written from a boy then a girl's point ofview, there is plenty here for teenagers of both sexes to enjoy. Be a greatread to give for Christmas
