A great book by a great new author!

Isabela Santana is looking for the Red Lady, an elusive Mayan female ruler. What she's not looking for is to relive her past with Mateo Esquivel, a man who broke her heart seven years ago -- at least that's what she tells herself in the light of day. At night her dreams say something different. But Mateo isn't going anywhere. He claims he can help realize her dreams. Is he referring to the Red Lady, or to the love they had seven long years ago?Tracy Montoya weaves a modern-day love story into a glimpse into the past. Although Kensington Encanto line can be hard to locate in some areas, this one is worth looking for!

A TRUE KEEPER

ISABELA'S DREAMS is one of those rare books that have it all. Humor, sparks and sizzle, and truly magical moments that will touch your heart. Don't plan on getting anything else done once you start reading because from the very first page this incredibly gifted author will keep you spellbound and unable to leave Isabela and Mateo's world. Bravo, Ms. Montoya. When is the next one? (And I have to agree with the other reviewer, I too would love to see Flor have her own story!!)

Love in a steamy jungle!

Isabela Santana is a firm believer in her dreams coming true so as she gazes at her lover while he sleeps, she knows he will betray her with another woman. When her dream, exactly as she dreamt it, comes true, she leaves him without ever revealing to him why.Seven years later, Isbela is to embark on an archaeology assignment in Honduras. She hopes to find an ancient ruin which will quarantee her tenure. Then she is informed she will have a partner, Dr. Esquivel, whom is none other than her ex-lover. Isbela can not stop him from joining her team but she will not fall for him again. Mateo has his own reasons for going on the expendition and none of them are to get intimately involved with Isbela again. She had hurt him by leaving him as she had in the past. They are forced to come to an understanding and set aside their personal feelings in favor of their jobs. But as they work closely together in the steamy Honduran jungle, they both come to realize some things can not be squelched. I love stories with strong characters, foreign settings and sexual tension. This one has it all! A wonderful love story started in New Orleans and coming to a satisfying completion in a foreign country. A well detailed story that was quite enjoyable!

Isabela's Dreams

Do you like adventure, a touch of mystery and action with your romance? Are you a fan of Indiana Jones or archeology? Are romances with a reunion theme on your list of favorite story lines? If so, ISABELA'S DREAM is the book for you! I loved this romance for all the reasons stated above. The heroine, Isabela, is the driven academic type; a woman who left her true love, Mateo, several years previously, believing that he had betrayed her trust. Saddened, Isabela puts all her energies into her second love--proving that the Red Lady actually ruled the ancient city of Copan, Honduras. Of course, such a radical premise upsets the archaic, all-male faculty at the stuffy college Isabela is trying so hard to get tenure at. But Isabela finds that things are only going to get more difficult, especially when the administration tries to tie her hands by insisting that she accept visiting professor, Mateo Esquivel, as a codirector on her dig. Not only does Isabela resent the inference that she is incapable of doing the job on her own, she is devastated by the requirement that she work closely with the very man who betrayed her trust seven years earlier.Of course, Isabela isn't about to meet her old flame looking bookish and frumpy. She calls on her beautician sister, Flor, to help spice things up. The exchanges between these two characters is so much fun. Flor is a delightful secondary character, and her antics with her little dog, Gorgeous is hysterical. (In case you can't tell, I loved For and can only hope that her story is next.) Of course, Mateo shows up at the most inopportune time during the make-over, making for a very funny reunion.Once Isabela and Mateo work out their tentative working relationship, one that they both insist remain strictly professional, they're off to Copan. The scene between the two of them on the plane fairly sizzles. I love the emotion between these two characters. You can't help rooting for them, and sighing with frustration whenever they start to come together and then get pushed apart again. The chemistry between the two of them is magic. It is in Copan, that the two lovers have the chance to really explore their passion for each other as well as express the pain left from seven years earlier. And while their renewed relationship unfolds before you, Ms. Montoya takes you on a journey through a Mayan archeological dig. I felt the hot heat of the climate. I could smell the delicious foods and hear the sounds of the jungle. I could feel the majestic stones of the ancient temple beneath my fingers. It was as if I slept in the tents and walked the perimeter of the dig. I was there! It is the adventure of the dig and the mysterious person sabotaging the dig that draw Mateo and Isabela closer and closer together. I'm not going to reveal the great ending of this story. There are some very tense moments. Suffice to say, you're not going to be disappointed. I can only recommend that you read this story. It
