(Book #3 in the I"s Series)

Shy Ichitaka has a crush on his high school classmate Iori, but ever since she posed for semi-provocative swimsuit photos in a magazine, she's had a lot of sleazy guys hitting on her. Ichitaka's afraid to make his feelings known for fear Iori will think he's just another creep.

Don't beleive the hype!

Anyone who puts this book down obviously doesn't have a sense of humor OR thinks their humor is so above this book OR has never had a crush on anyone ever in life. That's basically what this story is about, Ichitaka (the main character) has a crush on Iori (the unrequited love) and struggles with his feelings for her, rejection, his long time friend, and just plain hilarious circumstances. When i first got this book, almost two years ago, i ate up every single book as soon as i got it. The covers are almost misleading because, even though there are things like that inside the book, it is only to enhance the hilarity or to remember how one used to think in high-school. My only gripe with the book, and the series, is that Iori is so passive with her feelings and as a character almost seems to just "go along", however, the times that her true unabashed-self comes out, it's great because it's what you've been waiting to see from Ichitaka's point of view. So i guess in that respect it's true, from a POV standpoint, but i guess when you get later in the series it makes more sense also. The other thing i loved about this book is the characters, not only Ichi, and Iori, but a host of friends from both sides that just open the flood gates to great situations. And while you get to know the characters you remember those types of people when you were in highschool, or for that matter, now. I'll end it on this, if you bought the entire series, the second you read that first one, you would want to read every one after. But pace yourself, give at least a day in between books. you won't regret getting involved with this series.
