Debunking "immortal soulism"

The authors: Mark Graeser, John Lynn, and John Schoenheit do an admirable job in presenting the Biblical Truth regarding what happens to a person after death. While much of christendom has adopted what the enemy told Eve "...thou shalt 'NOT' surely die..." (emphasis mine) this book relates most every Bible passage that states the contrary. Chapters include: 1) Consequences of believing Satan's Lie 2) What Is The Soul? 3) What Is Death? 4) Where Are The Dead? 5) In What State of Being Are The Dead? 6) When Will The State of "Sleep" End? 7) Difficult Scriptures Explained * Conclusion * Scripture Index - 8 PAGES; a wonderful resource for those who would wish to examine for themselves from the Bible, the truth of our subject. * A 2 page bibliography for further exploration * Resources from Christian Educational Services (an unitarian Christian ministry:: Note - Not Universalist Unitarian) From the above we might think that there is no hope. The opposite is true! Rather than expecting some "pie-in-the-sky" paganized heaven, our authors relate what the Bible teaches regarding the resurrection(s). Couple this with the coming kingdom of God to earth headquartered in Jerusalem and you have a comphrensive Biblical view of the hope espoused by those patriarchs of Isreal, the prophets, and those from the apostles to the followers of Jesus' teaching today. If you want a Biblical study of the subject of immortal soul doctrine without superimposed traditions of men this book is highly recommended. in blessing, bless

An Excellent Primer on Conditionalism

Books on Conditionalism are so rare, it was nice to have come across this. This short little read outlines the basic tenets of what the Bible teaches regarding death/soul/heaven/hell. For a more in-depth look see Edward Fudge's "The Fire That Consumes". I have recently read a few books by the famous Agnostic "Bertrand Russell". One of the doctrines that makes him reject Christianity is this very one in question. He rejects the "immortality of the soul" and hence rejects Christianity. This was of course not the only reason Mr. Russell rejects Christianity but one that stands out in my mind. Namely because the Bible does not teach "the immortality of the soul". This has been handed down to us from Plato and the Greek Philosophers and influenced the Jews and Early Christians in they way they viewed human nature. This unfortunately led the majority of Christians to accept this false doctrine and has been responsible for leading many people into agnosticism or atheism. There has been other reasons I am sure, but this single false doctrine has had its contributions. That being said, it's nice to find these little books around from Christians who defend what the Bible actually teaches in regards to this doctrine.
