A "New York Times"-bestselling author delivers his most devastating novel yet--the remarkable story of two orphaned brothers separated by violence at an early age. When a boy is brutally murdered in their orphanage, one brother runs and takes the blame with him. Twenty years later--a seasoned killer--he returns to North Carolina.
Excellent thriller involving brothers who were abandoned and raised in a home for boys and how their lives play out. Both boys encounter abuse and terror in the home until a murder occurs and one takes the rap and runs away while the other is adopted. As adults their stories involve organized crime, mental illness and murder. With lots of action, suspense and mystery it will not disappoint you! Would have given this story 5 stars but then what would I have given my favorite John Hart novels!

Loved all the characters, even the bad guys. Found the descriptions of the topography to be delightful. Anyone who enjoys action and drama should enjoy this one, read it in two days, couldn't put it down.
