good resource, but a bit out of date

This book is a good though outdated overview of the investment banking business. I would also strongly recommend instead or in addition the Vault Career Guide to Investment Banking.... The Vault guide includes more detailed overviews of all the departments and functions of an investment bank including corporate finance, M & A, sales, trading, private client services, credit, etc. If you are a job seeker in investment banking also try the Vault Guide to Finance Interviews, which contains actual investment banking finance interview questions and answers and which I found to be enormously valuable in my Wall Street job search.

Worth to recommand for practitioners to catch up whole story

As we Taiwan a developing country in financial expertise,I found it really indicates some future trends especially in daily operations. Not only does the book provide lots of example of how the industry works, but also show the way it should be in an regulated region who is going to be deregulated. Highly recommanded for those who are top in the big securities firms and the governers of the authorities.

Very good resource

I read this book through twice and thought it was a very good resource on I-Banking. Another book I found as good or better is the "Vault Reports Career Guide to Investment Banking," which also included dozens of actual finance interview questions with model answers.

Excellent Read!

A high-level, intellectual overview of the investment banking industry. Great primer to get up to speed on the players, the game and gain insight into the future. Well worth the cost.

An Absolute Must for Anyone Interested in I-Banking

This book sheds light on the stucture, termonology and workings of the I-banking industry. A must for anyone that is interested in entering the business, young CFO's or anyone that will encounter the sevices of a I-Bank.
