Introduction to Geography, Arthur and Judith Getis

Do you know what Curtains of Death are? Where the Lungs of the World are and why they are so? Or why we may experience a population implosion? It's all here, and more, in Introduction to Geography, 11th edition. Although this is a textbook, I highly recommend it not only to the student, but also to Baby Boomers and to all generations. To those of us who remember Geography as a where-it's-located, and Natural Resources and how we have benefitted by them, this book is a must-read and a wake-up call. Find out where this past mentality has taken us. The facts are alarming and you won't learn about them in the news or even from the more informative cable programs of our time. Knowing the truth is the first step in changing our thinking and thereby changing our world for the better--for our own sakes and for those coming after us. This work covers every subfield that is recognized today as part of geography's concern, giving the reader an introductory yet well explored overview of each. Boxed inserts relate topics to today's world and add interest and food for thought. What is an uplift?

This is a very informative book on the geography of the world. Now that I am out of college, I really want to learn about geography. Where is what in the world and how did it get there? Guess I also need a geology book.
