Biopolymers, with flexibility or semiflexibility, such as chromosomes and actin filaments, display unusually static and kinetic behaviors while confined in a narrow space. In the book, I study the polymers shape transition and segregation process by combining the Monte Carlo simulation, scaling theory and stochastic method. Interestingly, the results raises the possibility that genome segregation times could have applied evolutionary selection pressure to genome lengths.
