Flex Format Edition

This paperback edition is just as good as the hardcover edition as far as I know. There's also a less-known edition called the flex format edition that's supposedly identical but fits in a 3-ring binder. The ISBN for that one is 978-0471752523 and they look to be even cheaper than this one ($40). Ah, I found it: (WCS)Introducing Physical Geography 4th Edition Flex Format

just as described

hardly use the book but it has everything in it that i needed for my class.

Better than your average textbook

I bought this for an online class. I have taken other online classes and found the books hard to follow when studying on my own. This book, though, was not hard to follow. The diagrams in the book are the most valuable because they give a good visual image that makes the information easier to remember. I took this 4 hour course in 4 weeks and with a different book, I would have had trouble.

A Decent Textbook!

This book is a pretty decent textbook. It's rather interesting even if your passion is not geomorphology (mine isn't) and the illustrations are useful. A great feature in this book is that after every couple of paragraphs it gives you a summary of the information contained in those paragraphs for studying. Those summaries are so well-done you could essentially read them and not the text and still get an A in the class. There is a newer version of this book, but it's almost exactly the same, so I bought this one as a value option and it was not a problem at all. I got an A in the class and the changes in the newer version were minimal and I never noticed them. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is two-fold: #1 - too much metric and uses feet/miles only in a secondary fashion. #2 - the CD that comes with it is not worth using at all. Don't even bother installing and using the CD.

This book is the classic

There are famous researchers in any field of sceince. These two authors are just that in physical geography. I read this book for about six years while slowly studying the subject part-time. All the terminology is there with good diagrams and good maps. I think it is an affective introduction to the advanced reading yet is complete enough to be your only book on the subject too.
