Instant favorite!!

So, I’ve recently got into romantic suspense. I’ve been reading Linda Howard, and this book popped up in my suggestions. So I took a peek….and oh boy am I glad I did. This book is so fun and unexpected, and the romance scenes are right up my alley. I love it and will be looking into Ms. Stuart’s other books!

Yeow! Best Stuart novel yet!

I love Anne Stuart's books! I buy them new, ferret them out at consignment shops, search for them online, check them out more than once from the library. There may be a formula to them (which romance novels nearly always have), but her writing is getting better and better. She's stripping it down, getting rid of the euphemisms, starkly describing the relationship and sex of the main characters, and the result is grittier and more passionate. Yeow! Best Stuart novel yet!

Amazing!!!!! Such a talent!

I loved Moonrise as my favourite book for years. Nightfall and Ritual Sins came really close. Stuart rises to the level of Moonrise to give her best book in years. The characters are so compelling I could not put the book down.More more, Ms. Stuart!

Wow!

I couldn't put this book down. I agree with one reviewer, this is not a book for the faint of heart. If you like books that are wrapped up in a bow and made pretty, then this is not the book for you.

Riviting!

One of the best yet most chilling romantic suspense novels I've picked up in a long time. This one gave me a serious case of the creeps but I found Jamie and Dillon so engaging that I couldn't put the book down. Their relationship is shrouded in darkness and danger and loaded with erotic sexual tension. Not for the faint of heart! I disagree with the Publisher Weekley's comment on Dillon forcing Jamie into having sex with him, I didn't see that scene as rape at all. Granted, he's no teddy bear but Jamie is well aware of that and what she is getting into with him and could have walked away if she chose to, she didn't. She had the guts to both stay and face not only him but her inner demons as well. The ending was well written suited both characters perfectly, an unforgettable read.

Nobody does it better!

Nobody does the modern gothic better than Anne Stuart and INTO THE FIRE is no exception. There are only a handful of authors who have me running into a bookstore to buy their new books and Anne has been one of them from way back. I literally read INTO THE FIRE in one sitting on a plane and I was afraid I was going to be next infamous case of spontaneous combustion. That's how hot Dillon and Jamie's relationship was. I loved their backstory and I'm so glad that Ms. Stuart isn't afraid to be politically incorrect and to write about fascinating, flawed characters who are redeemed during the course of the story. That's always been the mark of wonderful fiction. She's a writer who's not afraid to take chances and she definitely tapped into my primal fantasies with this book. An excellent read!
