The new edition of this bestseller is designed to quickly prepare interviewees for handling the most important steps in the interview process. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I got this book and many similar books from the library to prepare for my first interview in over 12 years. I ended up bringing all the other books back and extending this library book to its limit... I just didn't want to give it up. Everything I needed to know from how to prepare, how to dress, to examples of thank you letters, to salary negotiation, this has been my interview companion all the way. The other books were bigger and seemed to be more comprehensive in the beginning, but they just kept going around in circles or asking you to do stupid and very time-consuming exercises to prepare for an interview. This meant you needed to start reading the the other books months in advance. This book just seemed far clearer and to the point than all the others, good if you can begin preparing one or two weeks in advance, but if not, it gives you all the important information summed up in just a few short chapters. I know I'd want to refer to it over and over again whenever my job situation changes and it's time to return this book to the library, so I'm buying it.

Interviewing potential employees feels like a cross between a treasure hunt and a business transaction. The boss is looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm, job skills, and who fits with the current team. Far too many candidates have no idea of the image they project. Slumped in a chair while mumbling answers is not likely to impress an employer.
