Its obvious the author is an experienced professional.

In the past I purchased several books on internetworks, LANs, WANs, etc, all of which made me wonder if the author actually worked in the field. From the first chapter in Held's book its obvious that he practices what he writes about. I found this book to be extremely informative and already applied several techniques to our corporate network.

Wow, what a book! This is the LAN/WAN book to get!

I bought this book at Interop and couldn't put it down. This book takes you from the fundamentals thru the nitty gritty details of internetworking. The author provides a wonderful insight to internetworking that it appears other authors lack. I believe the reason the book is so good is the author actually works with the equipment he describes.
