Great reference

I have used this text as a reference for years. It is a comprehensive collection of the major artists and movements that comprise "the history of Art." This book has been required reading for each of the Art History courses I have taken at UCLA. Though at times Gardner takes a very "Western" aproach to his analysis, he reamains consistant and therefore it becomes easy to extract his voice. The images are far superior to any other publication of this kind. The colors are relatively true to life. Over all a great reference for the curious and the academic.
