A Sports Illustrated reporter examines the intricacies of the game of football and interviews players and coaches, including Boomer Esiason, Bruce Smith, Jimmy Johnson, and Barry Sanders. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I read this book when it first came out, and I loved it. I'm a guy who's watched football my entire life, but since I was never big enough to play organized tackle football, I was never taught any nuances of the game. I find it much more enjoyable to watch sports when I understand more of what's going on, and that's what this book is all about - what are the greats of the '90s thinking when they play? Anyone who's ever yelled at the QB for being stupid will get a much better appreciation of what these guys have to do. It's crazy.
