Delicious indian recipes

I don't review things very often but wanted to review this cookbook because I really love it. I am trying to learn how to cook indian food. Specifically vegetarian dishes and this book has been easy to follow and the recipes I have tried have been delicious. I have tried the "Aloo Gobi Chokka/Dry Potato and Cauliflower", "Samosas", "Masala Rajma/Curried Red Kidney Beans", and " Kabli Channa/Curried Chick Peas". All were easy and turned out great. I have another Indian cookbook that I don't care for as much. This one is highly recommended!

Best Indian Vegetarian Cookbook

I've had this book for years. It is the best Indian Vegetarian cookbook I've ever had, and I've had and have several. I always go back to this one; everything I've made from this book has been delicious. Even the meat-eaters rave about the food. As this is a British publication, you may want to google the names of some of the vegetables; brinjal, for example is eggplant. The photographs are wonderful, and the step by step directions make the preparation so easy. I highly recommend it.

Authentic Indian Dishes!

Finally, a book that really delivers! I have tried many other Indian cookbooks that were good, but not great. This one is great. I made the mattar panir and curried chole and both were wonderful. I also made the green beans with coconut and it was delicious. The book shows pictures of virtually every dish. Step by step explanations and a handy spice guide really help. You won't be disappointed with this book.

Best cookbook in the category when you miss Mom's cooking.

If you grew up in the northern half of India, and miss the cooking of your Mom, and the cooking of the your friends' moms, then this book is for you. Having grown up in the Bengal and Punjab states of India, I found the recipes easy to work with and able to deliver the tastes as I remember them from my childhood. This is one book I want to pass on to my children.
