Ted LoCascio is superb!!! He knows how to offer the content so you do not feel hungry after reading his book. Easy to understand, extremely well planned and presented (well, it is InDesign after all), very methodical and full of tips and shortcuts one might overlook otherwise. I will never look back...the best book so far on InDesign.
Great instructional guide

Solid instructional guide. As a beginning InDesign user, I found it to be hands-on and practical. If you follow his step by step instructions, you shouldn't have too much difficulty learning the program. Having pretty simple instructions with lots of support graphics on each page also helped (though it would have been nicer if the entire book was color). Great tips written in user-friendly language. I would definitely recommend it to any first-time InDesign user.

This is a fantastic resource when you need to review something quickly. For those new to InDesign, it is a great companion to the book, Adobe InDesign CS2 HOT. The author has written a very good course and the book is logically laid out.
Good deal, lots of info

I found this book really helpful, even covered some things the others didn't. I like that the guy who wrote it is a real designer, he knows whats important in real situations, not just hypothetical design ideas. It was easy following the instructions, doing it myself. A good deal.
